MY WORK

  EDINBURGH CARES
Informational video commission for the University of Edinburgh

Informational video for the University of Edinburgh keyed towards supporting prospective students.

For this project I had the oportunity to work alongside Eilidh Nicoll creating and animating the informational video concept from scratch including storyboarding, background design, asset creation and character animation.

PROJECTS IN PROGRESS

A.O.R.T.A - A beloved Documentary Animated

A current project that I am working on for fun is creating an animated version of a mockumentary about aliens that me and my friends made during our foundation degree that is still very near and dear to us.

This project has been a great opportunity to try my hand at adaptation, as well as concept and character design, whilst getting to animate something that I really enjoy.

Aesthetically I have taken inspiration from animated shows from my childhood including Scooby-doo, Daria, and Totally Spies.

'Feral Child' - short film project

'Feral Child' (working title) is a short film project that I am working on with my good friend and very talented animator Eilidh Nicoll.

VASILISA

My Graduate film from my Bachelors degree in Animation from the University of Edinburgh, Vasilisa is an experimental multi-medium animated short film informed by the slavic folk tale of Vasilisa the Fair.

I worked almost entirely in isolation on the project during several pandemic lockdowns, working as sole writer, director, animator, puppet and set fabricator, and editor. Music and sound for Vasilisa was created by the incredibly talented Herve Girardin who was an absolute joy to collaborate with.

Using both stop-motion and digital animation, Vasilisa uses both abstraction and pastiche to explore the themes and motifs of its source material - these including: personal identity, womanhood and liberation, as well as my own cultural heritage.

DISQUIET

Disquiet is an animated short film I made in 2019 using art and interviews gathered from my loved ones, exploring the things that worry them in their daily life.

To create the film I asked some of the closest people in my life to sit down with me and talk about the worries and concerns that bother them in their day to day lives, and also to send me drawings that expressed their feelings and mental state.

I then combined these gathered materials with my own animation techniques including stop-motion, hand drawn cel animation, and paper cut, to create Disquiet, a film that showcases the inner lives and concerns of two young women in the year 2019.

THE WITCHUAL

The Witchual is an experimental video game that I co-created with 3 friends during my time studying experimental games design at Queensland College of Art as part of a university exchange program.

The Witchual followed a week in the life of the player, who's goal is to resurrect their dead wife, whilst being plagued by disturbing and prophetic dreams and unnatural disasters.

I co-wrote/designed the game's plot and structure, as well as creating a lot of the game's artwork.
